Verdi

Verdi

For the last three years since the retirement of Rex v. Karthago, I have been looking for the greatest dog to work with as my next competition dog. I have tested and seen the best that Europe has to offer from young adults to top placing BSP competitors. I did not find the greatest I must have until I found Verdi. When one sees Verdi, you see form for function. As stated in his breed survey, he is recommended to not only improve temperament and drive but also improve overall structure to the radiance of nobility that he possesses. Verdi is simply the best.

Strong, powerful with super speed, Verdi was a diamond in the rough. At this time, he is being re-trained in all three phases. Verdi is real power. As our German friends have commented, with his drive, he is an elevator that just keeps going up! He must learn the discipline that is required for top points under correct judging that Schutzhund demands. Verdi will be shown later this year in working competition trials in America. I am so greatful to be able to bring this great dog to the USA to our breeding program.

While Verdi was selected first and foremost for what he represents, Verdi has an impeccable pedigree. When one looks at his pedigree, you can understand the greatness in this dog. Verdi's father, Dago v. schwarzen Pagasus was not only a super dog himself but reproduced that in his progeny. Most notably, Dago is the father of the infamous J litter Talka Marda, with three littermates competing at the 2007 BSP, Javir v. Talka Marda placed 3rd at the BSP and 11th at the 2007 WUSV World Championship. Verdi's mother, Maxi v. Karthago is a full sister (via previous breeding) to my own Rex v. Karthago who himself was not only shown to many top placement in championships in America but also was two time WUSV and FCI World competitor.  Verdi von Karthago captures the vision of von Karthago with beautifully correct working dog structure and superior drives.

Breed Survey: Lively, forceful, tall, powerful and substantial, good proportion. Strong head, good expression, normal withers, straight, firm back, good length and position of croup. Good angulations in the front and rear, balanced chest proportions, straight front and movement, fluid, ground covering gaits. Secure temperament, TSB pronounced; does release.

I would like to thank Roland Seibel for all the hours and miles spent with me testing dogs and for finding Verdi. I would also like to thank Milan Skoric for his master's help in the working and re-training for the correct direction of the power and drive that Verdi possesses.
