Rex's sire, V-Aly vom Vordersteinwald, Sch3 FH kkl 1 "a" normal, was Germany's greatest producer in recent years. Aly has numerous offspring in the German National Schutzhund Championship and was noted for his pre-potency to produce high drive working dogs with great hips, breed type and super black pigment. Aly also produced the 2002 WUSV Schutzhund Championship 3rd Place dog.

Rex's dam, Xambra von Karthago, Sch3 kkl 1 "a" normal, was one of the Karthago kennel's greatest all time female. Xambra produced great dogs in every litter. Producing females such as Xambra are priceless and will carry on the fame of the Karthago kennels as one of the top working kennels in the world well into the new century. Xambra's dam is the great producing female, Randa, who was the best daughter out of Karthago's foundation bitch, Afra vom Stoppenberger Land. Xambra's sire, V- Cliff von der Mohnequelle, Sch3 FH, was a great stud dog himself noted for dogs with excellent breed type and high fight drive. Cliff's sire, V-Kim Werseufer, Sch3 FH, also produced numerous dogs in the German National Schutzhund Championship and again was noted for his breed type, fighting drive and pre-potency.
